Where does tres leches come from?

So i was posed with this question today! hmmm...didn't really know how to answer, but i will say that I answered just like any other person would. Mexican!!! well, I was in for a surprise. Turns out its a Nicaraguan recipe. So kudos to all our Nicaraguan friends for making such a delicious dessert.

Everyone loves tres leches, no matter where you're from. So here it is. The oldest recipe for a tres leches is found in Nicaragua. That doesn't necessarily mean they invented it, but for sure they deserve the credit. I love our Nicaraguan brothers for their contribution to the culinary arts.

Love you guys!!!
